How to compress a JPEG

  1. Choose or drop your JPG files above.
  2. Keep the quality at 75% for the best balance, or move the slider. Prefer an exact limit? Enter a target size in KB.
  3. Download each image, or save them all as a ZIP.

What quality setting should I use?

Between 70% and 80% most photos look identical to the original while often shrinking by half or more. Go down to 50–60% for thumbnails and email attachments where size matters most. Above 90% the file grows quickly for little visible gain.

Why compress JPEG files?

Smaller images load faster on websites, send faster by email and messaging apps, and fit within upload limits on forms and marketplaces. For website owners, lighter images also improve page speed and Core Web Vitals.

Frequently asked questions

Does compressing a JPEG reduce quality?

JPEG compression removes detail your eye is unlikely to notice. At the default 75% setting the difference is very hard to see on most photos. If an image is already heavily compressed, the tool keeps your original instead of making it worse.

Does it remove EXIF and location data?

Yes. Saving through the tool writes a fresh image file without the original EXIF metadata, which includes camera details and GPS location.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to Tech9Pros or anyone else, so the tool also works with private photos and documents.

Can I process several images at once?

Yes. Select or drop up to 30 images together. Each one gets its own download button, and you can save them all as a single ZIP file.
