Compress image to 25KB

Compress image to 25KB by setting the limit once. Every photo comes out at 25KB or smaller, ready for forms, applications and uploads that reject large files.

Each image will be this size or smaller.

Width × height (px)

Where a 25KB limit is used

25KB is common for a signature or a small passport-style photo on forms that ask for two separate files. It leaves a little more room than 20KB for a clear face.

How to compress an image to 25KB

  1. Choose or drop your photo above. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF all work.
  2. Leave the target at 25KB, or type a different limit in KB.
  3. Download the result. The new file size is shown next to each image.

How the size limit is reached

The tool looks for the highest image quality that still fits under 25KB. If quality alone is not enough, it reduces the pixel dimensions step by step until the file fits, so you do not have to guess settings in a photo editor.

What to expect at 25KB

A typical photo at this size ends up around 410 x 310 to 550 x 410 pixels in a 4:3 shape. A 4MB phone photo has to shrink to about 1% of its size to fit. At this size the picture has to be very small. Faces and simple shapes stay clear, while fine texture and busy backgrounds soften. Dark ink on white paper, such as a signature, compresses best.

File size is not the same as pixel size

A limit of 25KB is about the number of bytes in the file, not the width and height of the picture. A large picture can fit if it is simple, and a small picture can break the limit if it is full of detail. That is why the tool adjusts quality first and dimensions only when it has to.

Compressing several photos

Drop in up to 30 images and each one is reduced to 25KB or smaller. Photos with very different detail end up at different pixel sizes, because each one gets the best quality that fits. Download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Tips for a better result

  • If the form also states pixel dimensions, resize first with the image resizer, then compress.
  • Check the result at full size before you upload it.
  • Crop to the face or the signature first. Less background means more detail where it matters.

Frequently asked questions

Will my photo still look good at 25KB?

For small uses such as signatures, ID photos and form uploads, yes. The tool reduces the pixel size automatically if it needs to.

Why did my image come out as JPG?

PNG files cannot be shrunk by lowering quality, so reaching a size limit usually requires JPEG. Choose WebP in Output format if you prefer it.

Can I compress a signature to 25KB?

Yes. Photograph or scan the signature on white paper, drop it in and keep the target. Dark ink on a plain background compresses very well, so signatures usually keep clean edges at this size.

Is it safe to compress ID photos to 25KB here?

Yes. The file is processed inside your browser and never uploaded, so ID photos, signatures and scans stay on your device.
